The Stronger Stride Podcast is an audio production that brings it’s listeners insightful and authentic conversations about running. Podcast hosts’ Sophie Lane, Accredited Exercise Physiologist, and Lydia McKay, Physiotherapist, are passionate about the integral role running can play in not only enhancing ones health and wellbeing but creating community and inspiring change.

Sophie Lane

Exercise Physiologist & Running Coach

Sophie has experience managing a variety of chronic conditions including metabolic, cardio-pulmonary, neurological and mental health.

She has recently completed further education in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, strength and conditioning and running coaching. Sophie’s current career focus is to help runners to run injury-free!

She is now working at Sydney Performance Lab and North Shore Running where she is assisting recreational runners to get faster, stronger and reduce their risk of injury. 

Qualifications:

  • Masters of Exercise Physiology, Charles Sturt University

  • Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, University of Newcastle

  • Level 2 Recreational Running Coach

  • Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach

Lydia McKay

Physiotherapist & Personal Trainer

Lydia has worked in a variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal rehabilitation settings as a physiotherapist and personal trainer.

The past 6 years Lydia has worked in the fitness industry coaching functional group fitness and one-on-one personal training across the Central Coast. She was also involved as a Sports Trainer providing first aid and acute injury assessment for local Rugby.

Since moving to Coffs Harbour Lydia has completed her Physiotherapy studies and works with a variety of musculoskeletal and sporting injuries, as well as continuing coaching group fitness across a few gyms.

Lydia is passionate about improving quality of life through movement and believes running is a powerful tool to get there.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) University of Newcastle
  • Sports Trainer Level 1 
  • Certificate III + IV Personal Training and Group Fitness
